Ian McKay Challenge Cup

17 Oct 2022

Part of the Clubs 60th Birthday Celebrations included a friendly competition with North Perth for the “Ian McKay Challenge Cup”

A tight contest was held on 6 rinks. The top Divisions from both clubs played a very tight game with North Perth wining 2 from 3 but in the lower division contest it was Lake Monger who won the spoils with 3 very good wins from 3.

Overall, the aggregate margin of 30 went to Lake Monger over the two games with Lake Monger Monsters wining 7 to 5 rinks. As an inaugural event between the two clubs, both parties found the contest valuable competition prior to the start of the Pennants season and both parties vowed to a rematch next year.

Lake Monger look forward to a very positive season with a strong Thursday player group.

Club Captain Ron Ansett was extremely pleased with the result and delighted in the fact that Lake Mongers name is to be first engraved on the trophy.
